Rowbuy costs: tag, bottom line, service fee and postage

Four numbers decide what you pay. Two are on the listing, one Rowbuy names without pricing, and one arrives after the warehouse photos.

Three parts in Rowbuy's own breakdown

Rowbuy's help center splits the total into goods (the shop's price plus its courier to the warehouse), an agent fee for purchasing and keeping your items, and international postage based on the parcel's checked weight and size and the option you choose. Coupons come off on top. It promises an estimate before you commit and a final postage figure set by the carrier's measurements.

The service fee is the weak spot. No public page gives its rate, so we cannot tell you what it will be. Check the line items at checkout.

Why the bottom line can beat the tag

The tag on a Rowbuy listing is the price Taobao shows for the cheapest choice. The amount box further down shows the price for whatever size and colour are selected, and the page selects one by itself. On October 24 we opened thirty listings; seven showed an amount above the tag.

Tag against bottom line for the seven picks that differed, October 24, 2026.
  • A khaki trench: $30.38 tag, $48.07 with a down-liner colour preset.
  • A men's long coat: $68.98 tag, $78.62 with a fleece-lined style preset.
  • Grey joggers: $9.67 tag, $17.61 because the first colour entry is a two-pack.
  • A plug converter: $11.15 tag, $25.18 with a menu entry that is really a seller note.
  • A holdall, a set of packing cubes and a braided cable: under a dollar more each.

None of this is hidden; the amount box is right there. It just sits below the fold on a laptop screen.

Yuan into dollars at Rowbuy's own rate

Rowbuy bills in dollars and converts Taobao prices from yuan itself, so the exchange rate it applies is part of your price. Its public rate feed gave 0.1476 dollars per yuan on October 21, 2026, and the product pages we opened on October 24 converted at about 0.1477. Rowbuy does not explain how the rate is set. Your card may then convert dollars to your own currency at its own rate, which is between you and your bank.

For a quick sum, CNY 100 was about $14.77 that day. The kit weigher on the calculators page lets you change the rate.

Coupons, the spin wheel and referral pay

New accounts get a postage coupon bundle; the value is not published. A separate spin wheel gives one spin to a new user who enters an influencer's invite code, and one more for each delivered parcel; prizes range from 10 to 40 percent off international postage for one parcel, and they do not stack. Every account is also enrolled in a six-tier referral scheme that pays 5 to 8 percent of a referred buyer's postage, monthly.

We have no Rowbuy referral code of our own, so the sign-up links on this site carry only a tracking tag naming this site.

Costs that sit outside Rowbuy

Your own customs office decides import duty and tax, and the bill is yours. Rowbuy mentions tax-friendly options without promising any outcome. Card payments can be declined if your card blocks foreign online payments; the help center suggests calling your bank or trying another method.

A return from your home country back to a Chinese shop is the most expensive way to fix a wrong size, and Rowbuy's help center only talks about arranging returns before the parcel ships. Catch problems in the warehouse photos, where fixing them is cheapest.
